How should you plan the flight to your safari lodge?
- Choose the exact lodge and room first. Confirm which strip it uses, whether it is shared and how you reach the lodge after landing.
- Separate a scheduled seat from a private charter. A scheduled safari flight can collect other passengers or stop at other strips. A charter hires the aircraft for an agreed mission.
- Let the operator match the aircraft to the strip. A long-haul jet may take you to a gateway airport, with a light aircraft or turboprop covering the final sector. Even a paved runway requires an aircraft-specific assessment.

Safari lodges with private airstrips: FAQ
Can a private jet land at every lodge on this list?
No. Private access describes the landing arrangement, not aircraft capability. Gravel and short bush strips often require light aircraft or turboprops. The operator must assess the actual aircraft, payload, runway and conditions; a tarred surface alone is not approval.
Does each lodge have an exclusive airstrip?
No. Some have a lodge-specific strip; others use an airstrip shared by properties inside the same private reserve or conservancy. Euphorbia Mashatu uses Limpopo Valley Airfield, the reserve's private airport. The individual cards explain the distinction.
Are flights included when I book a lodge on Expedia?
